To commemorate the Georgian national football team's historic victory and their participation in the 2024 European Championship, the National Bank of Georgia will issue special collector coins. These coins will be available in both gold and silver denominations of 5 GEL.

To create commemorative coins celebrating the Euro 2024, the NBG collaborated with the Football Federation on design concepts for silver and gold coins that incorporate the national team's symbolic elements. The design aligns perfectly with the team's brand book.

One side of the coin features the team's logo, depicted in color on the silver version. The logo showcases a horseman (inspired by white George) battling a dragon, symbolizing the triumph over personal weaknesses. This side also includes the team's brand slogan "I am Georgia," which embodies their ideology and projects the country's image on the international stage.

The flip side displays the national team's jersey design, also in color for the silver coin. This design reflects the team's brand philosophy and was developed alongside their new branding initiative. Additionally, the coin features inscriptions in both Georgian and English commemorating the event, along with the denomination and year of issue.

According to Natia Turnava, Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, these Euro 2024 collector coins will serve as a permanent reminder of the Georgian national team and their players' achievements.

"In March, the NBG made the decision to issue collector coins in honor of our team's historic accomplishment," Natia Turnava stated. "We collaborated with the Football Federation to design these gold and silver coins. I wish the Georgian national team all the best at the European Championship!"

The Lithuanian mint, chosen as the production partner, has begun manufacturing the Euro 2024 collector coins. The production is expected to be completed by the end of this year, with the coins becoming available for purchase.
