The obverse features bas-reliefs of the eagle and lion from the 11th century Svetitskhoveli cathedral (which signify the strength of the state). The composition is finalized by a leaf ornament and seven stars. The coin is circled with a legend that reads, in Georgian, ”3,000th anniversary of Georgian statehood”.
