The obverse of the coin bears the coat of arms of Georgia, and the rim has a circular legend “საქართველო” and the date of issue (2006).

Both sides of the coin have a microelement – a lion’s head similar to the one found on the old Colchian tetri coin. The edge of the coin is milled and bears a bilingual legend reading "საქართველო Georgia” with five-pointed stars in between.
